Prangishvili A.I., Milnikova I.A. and Dzidziguri G.A.

Georgian Technical University

Abstract. Statistical foundations of the quality control of the education process are discussed. A new approach to quantitative evaluation of the teaching process is proposed. The approach envisages the elaboration of unitary scaling systems for students’ scores based on pattern distributions of the scores of exams.  To this end a new method based on  Equating and Contingency Tables methodology is proposed. The method permits us to compare the exam results on different subjects and for different years with the pattern distributions of scores and thus allows us to define the unitary scale for the exams results. The latter permits us to elaborate  the  standards for the education process  quality control.

Keywords: teaching, statistical quality control, quality standards, equiscore equating, scaling, scores distribution.

Georgian Technical University

Abstract. The paper gives a pragmatic evaluation of the value that security technologies deliver to businesses. It contains recommendations on how businesses can view best the role of security technologies within the information security program. The findings were derived from the author’s observations as an information security consultant working for businesses at numerous vertical markets for several  last years. The principle finding is that the  information security technologies is becoming a commodity of the market. This change will create a shift in how businesses view security technologies, as they will begin to focus on achieving the security at as low cost as possible. The processes of commoditization will also force security vendors to find new ways of doing business.

Abstract. The paper deals with the electrodynamic analysis  and calculation of the multi-layer dielectric antenna casing with a periodic grating, consisting of ideally conducting circular cylinders. Massive quartz diorite rocks of the Dzirula Crystalline Massif are bare in the revines of the Dzirula River and its tributaries – the Gezrula, the Madjarula and the Kvirila. These rocks are represented by the ones of the series of gabbro-diorite-quartz diorites. The gabbro-diorite-quartz diorites of the Gezrula Ravine are distinguished by a lower content of SiO2 than the massive quartz diorites of the Madjarula and the Kvirila Ravines. The quartz diorites are characterized by an intrusive contact with gabbro rocks of the Cambrian age and are intersected by Late Hercinide microcline granites.
