Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University

For investigation of dynamic ionospheric vortex structures, the method of Poincare sections is used. The two-dimensional, dynamically consistent model, evincing Lagrangian turbulence, is considered. The calculation results of trajectory and coordinates show that the particles move chaotically over the whole region, except the regular “islands”. The stationary vortex structure destruction at small harmonical disturbance of the stationary flow is demonstrated..

Abstract. By the methods of Auger-electron spectrometry (AES), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fast electron diffraction (FED) and wavelength dispersive spectrometry (WDS), there were carried out complex investigations on the structure and elemental distribution in the Beilby layer formed during mechanical polishing of ground surface of Fe-44%Cr-4%Al-0.3%La alloy. It was established that the Beilby layer formed during mechanical polishing of ground surface of the investigated alloy consists of two sub-zones with uniform thicknesses combined with each other organically. The first (outer) zone with thickness of ~250Å is a truly amorphous layer saturated with oxygen and carbon atoms; and the second, underlying (inner) zone of ~350Å thickness, which also has high concentration of oxygen and carbon, is of a nanocrystallite (~20Å) structure (in roentgen-amorphous state). The ratio between the thicknesses of the given zones, which compose the Beilby layer, to a certain extent depends on the polishing duration and the condition of the initial surface antecedent to mechanical polishing. On the basis of observable peculiarities of the character of changes in the thickness of revealed zones depending on the polishing duration and the initial surface condition before mechanical polishing, there have been of developed notions of the hierarchical sequence of stages of formation of the Beilby layer (and layers under it) as a product of the combination of processes of visco-plastic mass-transfer and growth of crystal structure defects, which are accompanied by plastic deformations. The stabile existence at room temperature of the superficial layers with truly amorphous and “roentgen-amorphous” states, which are so nonequilibrium against the underlying crystalline structure, is explained by the dissolution of those layers with carbon and oxygen atoms and their interaction with the basic atoms which compose the investigated alloy.

Keywords: surface, Fe-Cr-Al-La alloy, mechanical polishing, Beilby layer, amorphism.

Quenching of triplet states with phenols

Kokrashvili T. A.,  Shengelia M.A. and Kokrashvili A. T.

Georgian Technical University

There are given the values of the Kinetic isotopic effect at quenching of triplet states of quinines with 3A phenols which justify the mechanism of quenching proposed in this and previous works. According to this mechanism, the kinetics of quenching and the quantum yield of radicals are determined by three elementary stages: the process of formation of the complex with a hydrogen bond, the transfer of hydrogen atom and the photolytic equilibrium in the complex formed. The isotopic effect for the rate constant of quenching of triplet states of quinines with phenols increases, as increases the acidity of phenol, and then decreases again.

The peculiarities of annealing of defects of the Ec-0.17 eV level in  Irradiated n-Si Crystals

Pagava T.A., Kharashvili O.G., Maisuradze N.I., Khasia N.I. and Kanchaveli D.E.

Georgian Technical University

In the n-Si crystals irradiated with protons having the energy of 25MeV, the radiation-induced defects of the Ec-0.17 eV level were annealed in two stages: Tan=2000C and 3000C. It is demonstrated that, unlike the divacancy (V2), Tan of the defects annealed at 2000C does not depend on the concentration of disordered regions (DR). This points to the fact that these defects are of the internode CiCs - type (internode carbon-carbon in a node). At Tan=3000C, the A-centers are annealed. The negative annealing of A-centers and V2 is connected with dissociation of DR.

SUMMARY

On the generality of the notion of duality of evolution and revolution

Khvedelidze M.A.

Institute of Cybernetics

Georgian Engineering Academy

International Informatization Academy

The author supposes that the duality of evolution and revolution could be realized with consideration of existing certain similarity in the processes of self-organization of various systems from physical-chemical to biological and social ones and, at the same time, of their certain difference from their initial level. But the history of all revolitions has always been in the transient period, in the state of inevitable chaos. The  possibility of transition to a new stable state requires a great amount of energy. In this case, the general rule of duality of structural organization of matter acts like in the case of dual polar-pair states of the matter. The author considers that the existence of inverse transformation from the state of order to the state of chaos today can be justified by the example of the social system. Later, after studying thoroughly the physical vacuum, it would be also possible to demonstrate the inverse transformation of diffused energy and information into the concentrated state according to the absolute principle of conservation of energoinformation. It is stated that, without formation of at least a single type of dual regular polar-pair state of matter, the Earth itself could not have emerged.

On the issue of determination of the availability function of some types of equipment

Jojua Z.S. Arabuli N.V. and Jojua N.M.

Georgian Technical University

There was studied the reliability of machines subject to two kinds of  failures detected at the moment of their occurrence by perfect continuous control. The two kinds of failures were the following: wear failures distributed by the random law and random failures distributed by some complex combinations of exponential distributions, e.g. the procurement combination of exponential distributions. In this case, only two states of the equipment were considered: “operates” and “does not operate”. As a failure was taken an event that caused complete cessation of output of products. After the failure, the equipment was returned to service, and, after recovery, there did not occur such failures. The function of availability for service was also determined.

On the prediction of anthropogenic effects oN the environment

Dumbadze Z.A.

Georgian Technical University

The block diagram of the system of prediction of anthropogenic effects on the environment is presented. The available up-to-date information about a phenomenon, a process or an object to be predicted enters the prediction system via its input, and the data on the expected parameters (i.e. the prediction) of the phenomenon, the process or the object are output. As a future situation related to the anthropogenic effect depends on many  factors of stochastic origin and is characterized by uncertainty, the method of maximum likelihood has appeared to be suitable for this case. The abovementioned method is based on the probabilistic approach. The analysis and the estimation of predicted parameters of anthropogenic factors are often multiple-factor and are associated with elimination of uncertainty. This requires the application of the system approach and the corresponding body of mathematics.

As informational technologies progress, the sphere of application of the term “information” expands. At the same time, the meaning they put in this term becomes somewhat hazy. For further progress in the field of artificial intelligence systems, it is essential to develop a semantic theory of information and, thus, to make clear such a basic notation as information. In the present work is made an attempt of development of a new approach to the solution of the problem: information is considered as a process of cognitive interaction; two forms of informational interaction are distinguished; their quantitative estimations are given.

Georgian Technical University

Abstract. Basic tendencies for development of gas-turbine (GTP) and gas-steam (GSTP) plants and current achievements in this field worldwide are briefly overviewed. It is mentioned that the expansion of gas-turbine (GTP) and gas steams (GSTP) plants has been supported by market changes in power industry – the emergence of competition and the liberalization of energy markets. These plants are characterized by good energy and ecological features, low specific cost and short term for construction. The GTPS and GST should be widely introduced in Georgia. They can be used for cogeneration power plants (block thermal power plants), reconstruction of existing thermal power plants and building of new plants, as centrifugal expanders on main pipelines, for construction of air-accumulation  gas-turbine power plants etc.

The construction and operation of binary exhaust heat boiler gas-steam thermal power plants are most effective.  Such power plants are spread worldwide. The coefficient of efficiency is 55 – 60 %. The introduction of binary gas-steam turbine plants with inner cycle coal gasification is rather promising in Georgia. In fact, such a plant becomes chemical-power enterprise. Despite lower energy efficiency the gas-steam plants of semi-dependent schedule can be used for upgrade and reconstruction of outdated condensing units existing in Georgia. The introduction of modern gas-turbine and gas-steam plants on a large scale has no alternative in power industry of Georgia.

It enables the system to work in an economical regime, since, as is known, if a consumer knows which time interval is favorable for him for the power consumption, he maximizes power consumption in this period and it turns out that the consumer participates in system management and promotes involuntarily its stability. The proposed system allows the introduction of the system of the differentiated tariffs, the exclusion of unaccounted charges of the electric power, finding the losses (theft) of energy, and providing the switching-off of subscribers on debts.

Keywords: power consumption, automated management system.

SUMMARY

The algorithm of network decomposition in tree-type structures

Gogichaishvili G.G., Meparishvili B.D. and Janelidze G.N.

Georgian Technical University

Among a lot of problems of management of industrial projects with network structures (water, gas and power supply systems), there is a problem of optimal distribution of material flows. Based on the specific character of the project, its structure should exclude any cycles and loops, i.e. its system must be represented in the form of independent tree-type structures, the roots of which are the outflows. These trees must complement each other so that no branch should fall out of the field of consideration. Fluctuations of local loads or input flows from the sources, as well as emergency situations, establish the conditions of dynamic regeneration of tree structures and, thus, of redistribution of the flows in the branches of those trees, which complicates significantly  the management tasks. There is proposed an algorithm of network decomposition in tree-type structures. This algorithm is recursive, and, to a certain extent, it is related to the algorithm of finding the spanning set tree, though differing from it significantly.

In order to promote the sector of mineral water production, new State Standards have been worked out. Old normative documents were intended for the requirements which have significantly changed for last 15-20 years. The requirements of new standards are to satisfy up-to-date norms enforced in the EU countries in reference to hydrochemical parameters of the products. The hydrochemical investigation of mineral water deposits of Georgia was performed for last three-year period. The deposits of the following mineral waters were studied in detail: Borjomi, Nabeglavi, Sairme, Utsera, Shovi, Mitarbi, Nadibaani, Plate, Skuri, Zvare and Vajas Tskaro. The fluctuation ranges for all deposits were studied and the results were included in standard documents. As a result, two State Standards were worked out, they were submitted to the Georgian Authorities.  They were approved, and the producers are already using those standards. Two documents were issued: one concerns the Borjomi Mineral Waters, and the second - other brands.

For the evaluation of possibilities for the mineral water sector development in Georgia, the market for such products was also studied. The existing market volumes, trends and specifications were analysed. The collected market information was taken into account specificsations during the preparation of National Standards of Georgia.

Georgian State University of Subtropical Economy

A simple rapid method of determination of nicotine in tobacoo raw materials was developed for its application  in practice at factory laboratory. It is demonstrated that the presence of nicotine in the tobacco raw material can be determined by using colored chemical reactions based on titration of the water concentrate of tobacco dust. The obtained results are evidence in favor of the proposed method as compared to the standard one. Its advantages consist in shorter duration of the analysis (by a factor of 10 less) and reduction of costs per analysis (by a factor of 13 less). The method allows performing the analysis of bulk raw material in working conditions.
